4-6-13 Brolan nka Basil has a pending adoption.
3-14-13 Brolan has had 3 vet check ups in the 2 weeks that he has been here. Our vet has given the okay to take him off of the 'possible' special needs listing. Listening to his heart there was no detection of a murmur, but he was also being held on to, as opposed to being under anesthetic as he may have been at the shelter. Also, back when Brolan was first here, he started to limp not only on his hind leg, but on a front leg. Our vet looked at the x-rays taken to rule out hip dysplasia, and did not see abnormal hips. So, our vet wondered about Lymes Disease. I contacted the shelter for additional information, and have not heard a reply. So when we treated him for Lymes, his limping symptoms disappeared. Also, we have changed him to a large breed puppy formula, to help slow down the leg growth. This boy is a chunk, already weighing in at 19 pounds today. Our vet has given him the okay to be considered for a new home provided that his potential adopter continues medication treatment, he gets proper exercise with daily walks, continues on good food and get sunshine daily for Vitamin D. 2-28-13 Brolan is a 12 week old male heeler who was surrendered due to 'nipping at the children' ages 4-11. What I see is a very friendly and submissive pup who is always under my feet. Even our transporter had the pup under his feet and instead of stepping on him with full weight he went down on the ice to save him. The shelter vet report is as follows: Brolan has been diagnosed with a stage 1 heart murmur that he may or may not outgrow. Secondly, he has been diagnosed with mild hip dysplasia that he may or may not outgrow. We have sent his x-ray to our vet, and we will get him in there after some settle in time. Brolan will be here for a minimum of 4 weeks. Our adoption fee ($250) covers the age appropriate spay / neutering, heart worm testing, rabies, distemper combo, microchipping and any other necessary medical that a dog may need. Please consider a rescue that comes to you with all of the routine medical (and then some) already done.

Prospective adopters who have submitted an accepted application and completed a telephone interview are welcome to schedule an appointment to travel to meet the dog. If approved for adoption, a deposit will hold the dog until a meeting or transport is arranged. AuCaDo Rescue does welcome out of state adoptions.
